 Carter W. Dunlap Jr., Founding Partner- Portfolio Manager

Carter formed the predecessor of Dunlap Equity Management, LLC in 1990 and the Dunlap Capital Partners, L.P. in 1995. He has over 30 years of public and private market experience as both a portfolio manager and a securities analyst. 1987 and 1988, portfolio manager with Soros Fund Management, managing the Quantum Fund, then a $2.4 billion global hedge fund. 1984 to 1987 portfolio manager and vice-president at G.T. Capital Management, a $6 billion San Francisco based global investment adviser. 1982 to 1984, software industry analyst for Robertson, Stephens & Company,  San Francisco.  1978 to 1980, securities analyst at Trust Company of the West. 2002-2008, director of the Pimco Strategic Global Government Fund, a NYSE closed end bond fund.

Carter obtained his M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School in 1982 and a B.A. degree in economics and finance from University of Southern California in 1978. He is a member of the Security Analysts of San Francisco.

Christopher A.  Jarrous, CFA; Partner – Portfolio Manager

Chris has over 20 years of successful experience as an investment manager and securities analyst focused on the small capitalization sector.  He joined Dunlap Equity Management in 2013.  He worked as an Investment Consultant/Private Investor and microcap fund manager in San Francisco from 2008 to 2012.  From 2001 to 2007, Chris served as Senior Vice President and Co-Portfolio Manager of MicroCapital LLC a $100 million fund focused on domestic and international small-cap companies twice named a Barrons Top-10 Hedge Fund of the Year.  During his seven years at MicroCapital LLC, he also played a significant role in client relations and operational management.  He began his financial career at B. Riley & Co. in Los Angeles as an equity analyst, where he worked from 1999 to 2000. 

Chris obtained his M.B.A. degree from UCLA Anderson School of Business and a B.S. degree in psychobiology from UCLA.  Chris is also a CFA charterholder.
